I started my career in Los Angeles, in addition to shooting weddings, capturing hundreds of smiling faces for both their personal and professional careers. I absolutely love bringing out your truest self while making you feel relaxed and confident about the images being made. Understanding of lighting, posing and composition are key to capturing stunning headshots. Capturing creative headshots with lights requires attention to a few key elements. Firstly, I consider the type of lighting that will best capture your features and personality. In certain situations I will use soft lighting to create a flattering, natural look, while other times use harsher lighting to add drama and depth to the shot. Experimenting with different angels and intensities of light can create interesting shadows and highlights, adding depth and dimension to your photos. Finally, I consider the background and composition of the shot. A simple, neutral background can help keep the focus on you while an interesting and contrasting background can add visual interest and personality to the shot. I make headshots fun and we’ll work together experimenting with different poses and angels to capture your unique personality and style.
Here’s how a headshot session works. You can expect a single session to take 1.5-2 HRS at a location of your choice. When I arrive it will take me about 45 minutes to unload my gear and set up. I can setup in a home office, living room and have found that the garage works best. We’ll then spend a few minutes chatting about the image you have envisioned for yourself, go over back drops and lighting and the clothing options you brought along if you purchased a multiple look session.
Images pop up on a big screen as I photograph you, and we collaborate together on expression, clothing, and posing to make you look awesome. I coach you on the most flattering angles, as well as hair, clothing, and makeup, so no detail is left out. I guide you throughout the entire process in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. You will love the experience and leave feeling empowered about your new headshots and portraits.
At the end of the session, we pick your favorites which are professionally retouched and sent to you in 5-7 working days. It’s simple, easy, and fun. All of you images will be delivered digitally and available for download in both high and web friendly resolutions.
